A perfect day in paradise

On December 5, 2025, surrounded by the people we love most, we exchanged vows at the water's edge of Costa Rica's Peninsula Papagayo. The Pacific glittered. The trees swayed. And the howler monkeys — in their own magnificent way — gave us a blessing we hadn't planned for.

Welcome Reception

7:00 PM – 9:00 PM · Gaio Pool

The celebration began as the Costa Rican sun dipped below the Pacific horizon. Guests gathered at the Gaio Pool at the Andaz Papagayo for an evening of libations, hors d'oeuvres, and the first warm embraces of a weekend that would be remembered for years to come.

Families, friends, and loved ones who had traveled from near and far finally found each other — laughter echoing across the pool deck as the warm Guanacaste night settled in around us.

Afternoon · Day Two · December 5

The Wedding Ceremony & Reception

4:00 PM – Midnight · Casa de Playa

At the private Casa de Playa — where lush greenery meets unspoiled Pacific shore — Sean and Peter exchanged their vows as the afternoon light turned golden and the ocean breeze carried the sound of waves between each word.

Guests arrived via land and sea for the short journey from the resort to the private beach. What followed was an evening of dancing, feasting, and savoring every moment of a night that felt almost too beautiful to be real. The dinner — prepared by Michelin-starred Chef Chris Barnum-Dann — was nothing short of extraordinary. Every course told its own story, and the whole table knew they were eating something genuinely special.

🐒 At the most tender moment of the ceremony, Costa Rica itself offered a blessing — the howler monkeys of the peninsula raised their voices in chorus. It was entirely unplanned, and absolutely perfect.

Afternoon · Day Three · December 6

Catamaran Tour

1:30 PM – 6:30 PM · Pacific Coast

The celebration continued on the water. Friends and family set sail along the stunning Costa Rican coastline — discovering secluded beaches, snorkeling in crystal-clear Pacific waters, and floating lazily in the afternoon sun with tropical drinks in hand. At the conclusion, we were treated to a spectacular sunset to enjoy with our loved ones.

Five hours of sailing, laughing, and soaking in the beauty of a place that had given us the most extraordinary weekend of our lives. The perfect final chapter to a perfect wedding.

There are weddings, and then there are the people who make them unforgettable. You are those people.

Some of you traveled across the country. Some of you crossed oceans. All of you showed up — with open hearts, your best dancing shoes (or sometimes your bare feet), and the kind of love that fills a room (or a beach, or a catamaran) with something that can only be called joy.

We chose Costa Rica because we wanted our wedding to feel like an adventure — wild and warm and full of wonder. What we didn't plan for was the howler monkeys. What we couldn't have planned for was just how completely you all made that moment — and every moment — exactly right.

Your presence was the greatest gift. Whether you toasted us at the Gaio Pool, stood with us on the sand at Casa de Playa, or floated alongside us on the Pacific the next day — you were part of something we will carry with us for the rest of our lives.

We hope these photos bring it all back. The light on the water. The warmth of that evening. The laughter. And yes — the monkeys.

We love you all so much. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.
